Anesco secures contract to manage installation of external wall insulation in UK

CTBR Staff Writer Published 08 November 2012

UK-based energy efficiency solutions company Anesco has secured a contract from the Doncaster Council to install an external wall insulation in 100 privately-owned ‘priority group’ homes in the region.

Upgrades under the contract will be completed cost-free, with funds provided through the national Priority Group Flex (PGF) scheme, bringing annual savings of £475 per annum for the residents.

According to the Energy Saving Trust an average of 45% of the heat loss is through the walls, which the wall insulation is expected to curb.

Commenting on the contract Anesco Energy efficiency head Matthew Tunstall said that the insulation will employ renewable technologies to reduce carbon emissions in addition to reduction in heat loss and energy savings.

Mayor of Doncaster Peter Daviesadded, "These projects are contributing towards community regeneration, boosting the Doncaster economy and increasing employment opportunities for local people.

"Another important factor is of course the significant savings on fuel bills that residents are already experiencing."

This is Anesco's second contract by Doncaster Council in recent months having earlier secured a contract to manage energy efficiency upgrades in 270 private homes and 125 council homes under the government's community energy savings program.
