Green Grid partners with Gimelec to develop energy efficiency strategies
The Green Grid, a global consortium dedicated to advancing energy efficiency in data centers and business computing ecosystems, has partnered with Gimelec, an association for electrical equipment, automation and related services, to devise energy efficiency strategies for data centers.
The partnership between the two parties will include the development of measurements, metrics and specifications, and establishing best practise guidelines to facilitate improvement in awareness, standards and energy efficiency within the data center industry.
The collaboration will merge the Green Grid global reach and Gimelec’s knowledge of the French market in terms of different laws and requirements and its access to international standardization bodies such as IEC, ISO or ITU to create energy efficient data center both in France and globally.
Gimelec chief delegate of data center platform Alain Calve said that Gimelec is a very active group in French and worldwide standardization and improvement of energy efficiency.
“As such I am very pleased that we are going to be working collaboratively with an organization with the global reach of The Green Grid to promote the data center energy efficiency strategies and solutions of the future,” Calve said.
